each partner takes turns talking about their unique values and explaining:

  • what it means to them

  • how is shows up

  • when they notice it the most

partners discuss and ask questions to deepen understanding of the other person.

step 3

move to the shared column and see if there is commonality in the meaning of the shared values. If there are differences, understand and discuss.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

  • for individuals, we recommend at least an hour to make good progress. you may still refine over the next few days.

    for partners or teams, we recommend a minimum of 90 minutes.

  • only you can know if they are “right”. After completing the exercise, we strongly recommend having the “my values” card available for 2 weeks and checking back frequently to see if you feel like your decisions and actions are in alignment with the words you chose or if you feel others are better.

  • having a top 5-6 is ok, but more than that is difficult to connect to on a daily basis. if you'd like support in refining, schedule a session with a coach and we’ll help you get there.
